Trial of nurse continues in the Maradona case

The trial by popular jury, in which nurse Gisella Dahiana Madrid is accused of "homicide with eventual intent" in the case of Diego Armando Maradona, still has no start date. Judge María Coello scheduled a new hearing for November 29, as confirmed by Mario Baudry, lawyer and partner of Verónica Ojeda, to the Agencia Noticias Argentinas. Baudry described the current hearing as chaotic, as the magistrate did not resolve any of the motions presented.

According to judicial sources, the defense of the accused and some of the plaintiffs have requested that the oral debate begin on February 25. On the other hand, representatives of Maradona's children have requested that Madrid undergo a psychiatric analysis to determine her imputability. The judge has set a new hearing for November 29 to continue discussing the theory of the crime, the evidence presented, and the list of witnesses who will testify during the trial.

Additionally, it was reported that neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, psychologist Agustina Cosachov, psychologist Carlos Díaz, nurse Ricardo Almirón, his supervisor Mariano Perroni, clinical doctor Pedro Pablo Di Spagna, and the coordinating doctor of a prepaid medical service, Nancy Edith Forlini, will be tried starting March 11, 2025, in an ordinary debate.

As for who will testify in the case, the presence of Dalma and Gianinna Maradona, Verónica Ojeda, Rocío Oliva, lawyer Matías Morla, and the president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia, is expected. Maradona's sisters, Ana Estela and Rita Mabel Maradona, former president of Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, Gabriel Pellegrino, Mario Baudry, and journalists Nelson Castro and Marcela Tauro will also testify.
